The AFP participated in DC Photo Week as part of a group show titled, ‘The United State of America‘. We shared a room with the work from two other excellent photographers, Michael Christopher Brown and Carolyn Drake. We were very honored to have the show curated by Elizabeth Krist, a senior photo editor at National Geographic. She put in a great deal of work to see the show come to fruition. In the end, it was a huge success.

This is the first time we’ve seen any of our work in print, or at least hanging on a wall. Although it was only a small representation of our project, we were very excited to hear some positive feedback and see people looking closely at the photographs. We are now gearing up for our big, all-encompassing show on January 7th in Charlottesville! More info on that to come.

Elizabeth, Andrew, and Ross at the opening. My, aren’t those beautiful flowers?

Andrew’s photo from the Dartmouth Polar Plunge was projected on the outside of the gallery with other work from DC Photo Week. Thank to Gina Martin from NG for snapping this photo!
